SMT uses ShadeVision, a digital shade matching device, for the initial shade.
A digital SLR camera is used with a macro lens along with a shade tab to get the various internal colors.
The human eye is capable of picking up colors that the camera will not store digitally. Thus, our head ceramist diagrams the different shades she sees.

SMT is locally situated in the Northwest Suburbs of the Chicago metro area, of Barrington, IL (just off of Route 14), so it’s an easy drive for your patients to make. SMT has dedicated a room especially for shade taking. This room is equipped with color-corrected and natural lighting, neutrally painted walls and a comfy dental chair.
